Aromatherapy for Your Mood and Skin Health

How Does an Essential Oil Clear Your Skin and Improve Your Mood?

Essential oils are good for many different purposes. Sometimes it seems like they are too good to be true, but trust me, they are very effective! For instance, grapefruit essential oil is great for working with adolescent melancholia and acne. It is cold-pressed from the rind of the grapefruit. You can apply it topically to troubled areas of the skin as a cleanser. In this way, you can take it in through the skin as well as the lungs (by breathing it in). It disinfects and detoxifies the skin. In addition, it helps you with stress, which can lead to your physically breaking out with acne.

Consider that many dermatologists prescribe antibiotics for acne and other conditions of the skin. While that could be okay for temporary use, what are the ramifications to the immune system is they are used chronically for bad skin? Also, many women and adolescent girls can develop Candida albicans, or yeast infections, if they're not careful with antibiotics. Grapefruit oil does not pose these same concerns.
